Taki Kakudai's wife, who was famous for her story talking about red and white hand balls described in Moral Training Manual used in elementary schools at a time in the past, was born here in Hofu City in 1721 and her name was Take Sera. She married to become Taki Kakudai's wife at the age of 19 and helped her husband very well as a wise wife. Kakudai was a disciple of Shunan Yamagata (a confucian scholar) who had sought Sorai Ogyu(a famous scholar and Shogun's adviser in Edo period) as a mentor and educated young people and trained up many good educators for 28 years at Jikanen School which was established by Mototomo Mohri, the head of Migita-Mohri Clan. Take finished her lifetime at the age of 77 in 1797 and was entombed together with Kakudai at Kotoku-ji Temple in Hagi City.
