Yowara Uvala and Hamlet
Yowara is a part of the karst landscape of Akiyoshidai. The ground here is made of limestone that is soluble in water and this leads to formation of hollow landforms in this area. These landforms are called ‘‘Uvala’’. Houses of the village are concentrated at the bottom. This hamlet is therefore a special one, as it is located within this type of hollow landform.
