Kintaikyo Bridge is a national site of scenic beauty. It has a surface length of 210 m, while the total length (in a straight line) is 193.3 m. The bridge is 5 m wide and the abutments stand 6.6 m tall. The unique, sophisticated construction of the bridge arches is said to be impeccable even from the perspective of modern bridge engineering. The scenery changes each season, with cherry blossoms in spring, cormorant fishing and fireworks in summer, autumn leaves on Mt.Shiroyama in autumn, and snow in winter.
